Luxury Korean car manufacturer Genesis has confirmed it will be axing its internal combustion engine (ICE) models this year, becoming a solely electrified brand.
The three all-electric models available in the UK will be:
The G80 - a D-segment saloon vehicle, which will soon be offered with an increased range and extended wheelbase.
The GV70 - a C-segment SUV that will be receiving a range power up and a facelift. It’s expected to be landing mid-2025.
The GV60 - the first Genesis to built on a dedicated EV platform, this car will redesigned to feature new headlights, bumpers and wheels.
Genesis first announced their plans for moving forward with electric vehicles only back in 2021. They have stated the new portfolio of cars has been reimagined with new innovation to truly represent the brand’s ambitions.
Brand director for Genesis Motor UK, Jonny Miller, said: “Since arriving in the UK, Genesis has led the way in premium electrification.
“As a brand, we’ve established our presence in the markets with award-winning cars and customer service excellence.
“We’re committed to responding to customer and market feedback, and we’re confident our transition to an electric range, joined by future hybrid models, is the right direction.
The petrol and diesel powered cars that fans have come to love will continue to be sold from stock, but all future Genesis 2025 vehicles will be EVs only to meet the growing demand and government targets.
